Forgive me readers…it has been more than a few weeks since my last post. I was bogged down with quite a cough and I was burning the candle at both ends trying to finish my book.
Yes, my book.
Some of you may not have heard that I am writing a book for Gifted Homeschoolers Forum Press. If you are a homeschooling family or you’re contemplating the idea, you really should check out GHF.
My mission, which I chose to accept, was to write a book about supporting twice-exceptional students. This support comes in the form of twelve strategies or “big ideas” that teachers and parents can use.
I had a year to write my book. It sounded like a lot of time-it wasn’t. Especially when real life got in the way and prevented me from locking myself in the office for hours.
There were several months that I didn’t write at all due to my mother’s accident. The holidays were another dry season for me, but when 2015 morphed into 2016 it was all hands on deck.
I feel so blessed for the opportunity and I am proud of my work.
I wanted to write an easy to read, understand, and implement type of book. I wanted to help the family of 2e kids by helping their teachers and administrators better understand. I wanted to help the homeschooling family or the frustrated parent who doesn’t feel quite ready to jump into homeschooling with two feet.
My son didn’t always like the fact that I was distracted at times by my work. If he had it his way, he would always have me at his beck and call; however, I hope he’ll be proud of me. After all, he’s been my greatest teacher.
I’m looking forward to the book! 🙂 Hope you’re feeling better now.
Thank you!
Oh congratulations!!! That’s a heck of an accomplishment!
Thank you so much! I’m super exited. Just started working on my edits and enjoying this next step in the process.
