Hello! My name is Kelly. I am a part time working elementary teacher with a MA in Curriculum Development and a homeschooling mama. I am passionate about literacy, special needs parenting, gifted education & working so that all kids can be successful in school! Although I love teaching, my favorite job is being a Mama to my son. I started this blog as a way to share information about twice-exceptional children (that explains the blog name) and have discovered a community in the blogosphere that I never knew existed!
In addition to guest appearances on numerous other blogs, my work has been shared in Macaroni Kids publications and The Brain Child site. This year, one of my favorite pieces was nominated for BlogHer’s 2013 Voice of the Year and my blog was a finalist for the 2013 Parent Map Golden Teddy Award. In addition to this site, I share my thoughts as a Huffington Post blogger.
I am interested in exploring additional opportunities, especially when I can combine my love of writing with my passions for parenting and education. Recently, I was asked to be one of the speakers for the Positivity Parenting Telesummit. I am proud to be one of the respected participants. You can see more about this at http://www.raisethemstrong.com.
I am thrilled to be writing a book for Gifted Homeschool Forum Press about ways of supporting our twice-exceptional children and I dream of finding representation for my two contemporary fiction manuscripts.
I co-parent my precious, quirky son with Diane. Our family time is spent watching movies, playing games, and taking trips close to home with our pups Stella and Summer.
