Hello! My name is Kelly. I am a full time working elementary teacher with a MA in Curriculum Development and a homeschooling mama. I am passionate about literacy, special needs parenting, gifted education & working so that all kids can be successful in school! Although I love teaching, my favorite job is being a Mama to my son. I started this blog as a way to share information about twice-exceptional children (that explains the blog name) and have discovered a community in the blogosphere that I never knew existed!
Jan. 2018 was very exciting! I became a published author! Check out Boost: 12 Effective Ways to Lift Up Our Twice-Exceptional Children is the newest GHF Press title.
In addition to guest appearances on numerous other blogs, my work has been shared in Macaroni Kids publications and The Brain Child site. This year, one of my favorite pieces was nominated for BlogHer’s 2013 Voice of the Year and my blog was a finalist for the 2013 Parent Map Golden Teddy Award. In addition to this site, I share my thoughts as a Huffington Post blogger.
I am interested in exploring additional opportunities, especially when I can combine my love of writing with my passions for parenting and education. Recently, I was asked to be one of the speakers for the Positivity Parenting Telesummit. I am proud to be one of the respected participants. You can see more about this at http://www.raisethemstrong.com.
I co-parent my precious, quirky son with Diane. Our family time is spent watching movies, playing games, and taking trips close to home with our pups Sandy and Summer.

Hi Kelly, I can see this might just work out for us. I’m not an expert either, but I’ve got all the answers! 😉
And I love potatoes, but I’m yet to get beyond steaming them…so there’s a lot of pressure on you to find that “right recipe”…here’s hoping! I’ll be keeping an eye out for that recipe!
When I first read your little Bio at the top of this page, I totally misunderstood your comment about potato. Apologies if I looked a little flippant, must say I feel a bit of a dill…!
No worries 😉 it made me smile
So happy to have found your blog.
I am SO glad too! I hope you visit again soon 🙂
